Organizational Development and
Crisis Management
We
consult and mentor at the board (or ownership) and senior management
levels and can aid in dealing
with threatening organizational issues, crises, or turnaround situations
in small to medium size organizations, with particular expertise in
clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities and mixed
medium size systems.
Our seasoned staff or alliance members can independently investigate and help solve
troubling and complex performance problems ranging from governance to
internal issues. We then can bring to bear
our extensive toolbox for analysis and assessment or in
evaluating performance and in thinking through strategy. Our qualified
associates in the alliance can also provide dispute resolution services as part
of the possible solutions.
The BroadBaker Group brings an integrated approach to the senior
management and board levels with knowledge and skills starting from
board governance, especially in Policy
Governance®, through upper management in strategy, ethics,
system dynamics, conflict resolution, leaning
processes (lean thinking), process improvement science, and measurement

Organizational Behavior
Many organizations suffer from a “know-doing gap.” They know what
they should do. They may even do excellent strategic planning, but at
the end of the year they simply have not executed. They have
organizational Parkinson’s disease and have significant difficulty
initiating movement—in any direction, but preferable forward. They are
locked in an accretion of corporate human behavioral systems (culture),
sometimes rooted or reinforced by management styles and HR functions and
policies (or their lack) that are counter-productive, even destructive
and dangerous.
It is not uncommon to find that a company, when desiring to set out
on it’s performance improvement journey, learns the quality science
facts and tools, but discovers it is suffering from knowing-doing
Parkinson’s disease. It cannot execute, and worse, on occasion has
serious destructive cultural illness growing like a cancer.
