This
is an orientation to, or overview of, the basics of
quality improvement science

Two
and one half day Training
(Our preferred training
materials for this workshop are the Fourth GenerationŠ materials from Oriel
Corporation. This is an excellent combination of video and
workbooks exposing the student to all key quality
improvement concepts and principles, including
introduction to basic SPC.)
Quality
Improvement Principles Applied to Supervision
(1/2
to 1 day)
We have
taken principles derived from QI and developed a seminar for
supervisors, not in quality improvement, but in QI-based
supervisory principles and how to relate effectively to
employees and colleagues for the people side of
quality-based organizations. One of our favorite books is
Peter Schotes' The Leadership Handbook. Need we say
more.
Data
& Measurement for Performance (1/2 to 1 day)
Learn
to think carefully about performance measurement and how to
tie it to customer focused quality improvement.
Voice
of the Customer (1/2 day)
Voice
of the Customer is the method developed by those striving to
improve customer-focused improvement to enable them to connect more
effectively with their customers. It is a method based on
interviewing and recording in a manner that permits verbal
analysis of customer responses. We offer a seminar based on
the Joiner Corp. (now Oriel) book, Voices Into Choices, in how to conduct VOC
studies.

Time
Management (1/2 day)
Clients
have asked for training in personal time (or self)
management. Our 1/2 day seminar is a synthesis of the best,
taken from thirty years of the time management training
world.
Personal
Productivity (1/2 day)
Like
the previous subject, at the request of clients, we
developed a seminar using the best of the productivity,
lean, and quality worlds and applied these principles to
personal productivity for an extremely useful and applicable
1/2 day seminar. We also offer this seminar in conjunction
with the Time Management for a full one day seminar.
High
Performance Clinical Office Techniques
Leaning
(1/2 to 1 day)
Experience
the power of leaning methods and value stream thinking, both
through presentation and games such as the Porsche Game and
the Beer Game.
System
Dynamics and Modeling
Learn
the basics of system dynamics and dynamic modeling or
simulation. This seminar will provide an acquaintanceship
with this very powerful way of thinking and the computer
dynamic modeling (simulation) methods to put into action.
Dynamic
Modeling (2 days)
We
can provide a two-day seminar to introduce clients to
dynamic modeling, providing hands-on experience in a
popular, powerful stock and flow modeling application.
Values
and Business Ethics (1/2 to 1 day)
We
provide seminars and training in corporate ethics based on a core set of
normative values founded on Western Civilization ideals of
fundamental virtues and
enhanced by the client's own thinking concerning ethics. These concepts
are vital to everything that follows in corporate or
personal life.
